Every Deadhead knows the Evolution of Jerrys voice. He started as Saint Stephen, his voice like a rose. Then he grew into the Candyman, grabbing his shotgun and blowing you down with soaring range. Then later on after his coma he became the Story Teller, shedding his light onto us all. And at the end, sadly, yet alluring, he became Black Peter, lying in his bed and dying, but all of his friends came to see him on hid last night, and for those few years he gave some of his strongest and most heartfelt perseverance to make is all proud, and taking us to the leader of the band.

“My initiation came in the Winter of 72 in Wichita, Kansas. Strong grass and live dead put me into a stoned trance. Staring at Garcia, something popped in my mind as I realized that he was also staring at me. I beamed a huge, uncontollable grin at him. He winked back and jerked his guitar neck at me twice. I felt bolts of energy strike me and my grin was fixed in place for the rest of the concert. I’ve been a deadhead every since. My mother will never understand.”
